El Dr. Michel Martínez López es un cirujano general altamente capacitado, especializado en cirugía abdominal, trasplantes renales, cirugía gastrointestinal y laparoscopia avanzada.

Durante su residencia médica y como Jefe de Departamento Clínico de Trasplantes en el Hospital de Especialidades del Centro Médico Nacional “Manuel Ávila Camacho”, adquirió una sólida experiencia en procedimientos de alta complejidad.

This project showcases a modern, patient-oriented website for a private doctor’s practice, designed to communicate professionalism, trust, and accessibility. The page was developed as part of a larger portfolio to demonstrate how digital solutions can elevate healthcare services and create a smooth online experience for patients.

🎯 Objectives

The primary goals were:

To present the doctor’s credentials, specialties, and professional values in a clear and trustworthy manner.
To provide easy navigation for patients seeking information about medical services.
To integrate appointment scheduling options and essential contact information.
To design a page that balances medical professionalism with a welcoming tone, ensuring patients feel confident and comfortable.

🎨 Design Approach

The design emphasizes clarity, warmth, and credibility. We used a calm color palette (light blues and neutrals) that aligns with healthcare standards while avoiding a sterile look. Visual hierarchy was carefully structured so that patients can immediately see:

The doctor’s photo and professional title.
Key areas of specialization.
Call-to-action elements for booking appointments or contacting the clinic.

Typography choices leaned toward modern sans-serif fonts, optimized for readability on both desktop and mobile devices. Layout spacing and imagery were selected to build trust and create an inviting environment.

The page was built using Next.js 14 and Tailwind CSS, ensuring fast performance and responsive layouts across devices. Notable technical features include:

📈 Results

The finished page reflects the professionalism and reliability of a healthcare provider while remaining approachable. By combining clean design and functional features, the site helps build trust before the first appointment is even booked. It also serves as a digital hub for patients, reducing friction in the process of finding information and scheduling consultations.

What we learnt

Building this doctor’s page allowed us to refine how we approach projects in the healthcare sector, where clarity, trust, and usability are critical. We learned the importance of balancing professional presentation with a warm, human-centered design. While minimalism works well in tech-related projects, medical websites require careful attention to tone and imagery. For example, patients visiting the site are often in search of reassurance, so every design choice—from the choice of colors to the placement of testimonials—needs to contribute to a sense of safety and professionalism.

From a technical perspective, the project taught us the value of flexible content management. Medical services and regulations can change frequently, which meant the site needed to be easily updated without relying on a developer each time. By integrating a headless CMS, we enabled the doctor and staff to keep service descriptions, pricing, and availability up to date independently. This reinforced our understanding of how to design systems that empower clients to manage their own content while maintaining performance and consistency.
